British Summertime Festival

So on Sunday my sister, her friend and I travelled to Hyde Park, London to attend the British summertime festival hosted by Barclay card to see Mcbusted, Backstreet boys the vamps and more.
we set off Sunday morning in my sisters car, driving to east London to get to our hotel.

We stayed in a ibis budget hotel, which was super cheap and had rooms for 3 people which we really struggled to find. you can find the hotel here, if you are looking for a really cheap night sleep for one night this is prefect. the room had one double bed with a bunk bed  horizontally over the top. This was the first budget hotel I had stayed in and was shocked to find that the toilet sink and shower were all separate, but as I said for just one night you don't need anything fancy.

When we finally got to the hotel, which took a lot longer than anticipated as the sat nav we had was rubbish so had to use my phone (which drained all my battery) we dumped our bags changed into shorts and t-shirts as it was such a lovely day and we were off to get the tube.

As we were staying in East London we got the DLR to canning town and then the jubilee to Hyde park corner. anybody that hasn't used the tubes before don't be alarmed, they are so easy to use there are tube maps on all the walls, just make sure you are going in the right direction :p

Finally we were at Hyde park just in time for scouting for girls. it was super super busy but such a great vibe as everyone was just enjoying themselves. first thing was first to get some food, for lunch we chose to get burgers and chips, which was a little pricey £6 for a burger and £3 for chips but we were so hungry from our travelling we didn't care. there was so many different foods to chose from as well even the fussiest of eaters would of found something, from juice bars for the health enthusiast to fish and chips for the traditionalist. once we finished our food we got ourselves some drinks from the cute little bar stalls and enjoyed the music and festivities. One thing I love about festivals is the fashion I literally was getting such great style inspo from every girl that walked past I could of quite happily just sat there all day and night just looking at what everyone was wearing, cute little shorts with wellies to lovely maxi dresses with sandals I was in fashion heaven :)

By the time backstreet boys come on we were giddy with excitement, this was a childhood dream come true and they were just amazing, they still had all the dance moves that lets be honest was all we wanted to see. they play all their old classic starting with the call and ending with everybody. it didn't completely tip it down with rain half way through their set but that didn't stop anybody from having a good time.

Unfortunately I thought it would be good idea to just take a hoodie rather than a rain mac as I was convinced it was going to rain. oh how wrong I was I got so wet my shoes didn't dry out for 2 days.
so after the enjoyment of the backstreet boys we just needed to wait for the main act Mcbusted, while we were waiting we got some dinner we try out a cute little Indian stall and got chicken tikka wraps and spicy wedges which were absolutely delicious and then it was time for the finale and they did not disappoint.

We had already seen Mcbusted earlier in the year in our home town but this was 100 times better, the performances were tighter their dialogue between the songs was funnier and the production was outstanding, from fireworks to spaceships in the middle of the crowd. by far the best gig I have been to and just didn't want it to end.

When it did finish it was a quick rush to get out of the park and to the tube station because as you can imagine thousands of people all trying to exit in the same direction is not fun. we managed to get to the tubes quickly enough we didn't miss the last ones on the DLR and we were back to the hotel. a nights sleep and we were up and out by 8:30 bright and early to miss the tour de France and we did not want to get stuck in that trying to get out of London.

And that was our little weekend trip to London, lots of fun and a great day out :)

Thanks for reading, hope you liked my first lifestyle post will hopefully be doing more of these :)

Ps sorry for the lack of photos but both my phone and camera ran out of battery by the end :(
